David B. Larter is a former national security and defense reporter who covered the U.S. Navy for the better part of a decade. In his work with both Navy Times and Defense News he has traveled the globe to cover the fleet from Japan to Spain, from Haiti to San Diego.

In addition to covering the Navy, he has covered the Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force personnel, as well as commercial real estate in Richmond, Va. His work has also appeared in Washington Post, USA Today, and Style Weekly.

Mr. Larter grew up in the Philadelphia area and joined the U.S. Navy after high school. He served four years and left as an Operations Specialist Second Class. He then graduated from University of Richmond in 2010.

He currently works as a communicator for a large aerospace company and resides in Los Angeles, California.
